Bestest Boldest Plan Ever

Sunshine is back! @floofypants sent us many gems of her two cats, and this time Sunshine has a bold plan for a message in a bottle that, honestly, I am pretty confident in her abilities to accomplish. She seems to have everything planned out to a T, what could possibly go wrong? it's solid. I'm putting in my name once she needs a crew.

Can I rant for a sec? I watched the documentary on the submersible that imploded on it's way to the titanic on Netflix... and it was so clear after watching the documentary that their fate was inevitable. There was no doubt that that the trip was going to fail, and the sole reason they still went, or even that they continued to make this sub for years after knowing it had many flaws, was the stubbornness of one billionaire. He refused to take any safety advice from any engineers, pilots who were meant to drive this dumb thing, or anyone in the industry who was trying to tell him it was unsafe. Within the span of five minutes, this Dingbat called himself a "humble human being" while also stating that he just loved the idea of power and ownership over the ocean... and if anyone tries to stop him, he'll just, "buy a congressman". People died because this idiot had too much money and he refused to admit his idea failed. (He used carbon fibre for the body of the sub because it's lighter, but it cannot handle the pressure of deep water like he wanted it to).

And that takes me to my main problem with all of this. What is with the ego and obsession with "power" and "ownership"?? Too many people live their lives thinking they are only important if they acquire lots of "things" and can control lots of "Things" just to boost their own ego. They don't want to own anything to take care of it, or to make it better, they want to use it until it is used up. The wrong people are using power the wrong way and it's infuriating. When will we realize that we need caretakers to be in charge of our nations and companies, not selfish pricks. People who empathize with their constituents, people who want happiness for all and a better life for everyone. But those people don't want the job, unfortunately. Not as badly as the people who want to misuse the power. I find anyone who thinks power is solely for control and leveling up, pathetic. There is nothing good about a person who has the power to improve so many lives, and instead chooses only himself every time.

aach. Thank you for letting me do that. It's a pattern that frustrates me so deeply, especially when I can see that it doesn't need to be this way. Here's to a future where we all get to thrive, breathe fresh air every day, and dance down the streets to the beat of our freedom and possibilities 🧡 If enough of us want it, and stand up for it, we can have that. And I believe we will one day.
