Hiiieeee! I’m Laura from Ohio and my tortoiseshell (tortie) cat, Phoebe. I adopted her from the humane society 11 years ago when they estimated her to be about 6 months old. She is a super sweet lap cat and an excellent mouser! She recently deposited a dead critter at the foot of my bed. I discovered it first thing the next morning when I was making my bed!! Eeeeek! What a way to wake up in the morning and get the old ticker going! 😱 She’s not like most cats in many ways. She is very afraid of going inside of boxes, but she does like to give herself scritchies against an open box flap. She will not sit in a box even if it’s shallow, nor will she walk through a box that’s lying on its side with both ends wide open. Needless to say, this makes trips to the vet a real ordeal for both of us. She’s terrified of strangers and loud noises. I don’t know what the first 6 months of her life were like, but she had to have been through some real trauma to have these aversions. Another unusual thing is that although she loves her cat food, she begs for chicken when I have it, and she nibbles on toilet paper, she’s not really wild about treats. Do you know what she actually loves? Cat Lax. Medicine. She’s an odd one but I think I’ll keep her. 🧡🖤🤎 I’m so happy to have found Manic Pixie Cat Lady and this wonderful community!
